Homework: Podcast Activity
A) Before you listen to the podcast list 5 traits that a good character or person would have.
B) At the end of the podcast write 3 sentences of good traits that you have and what have you done to show them. Comment on 2 of your peers post (must be different peers from last week), write about how you like traits mentioned in the sentences.
For example:
I believe my 3 best traits are respect, fairness, and compassion. I believe I am respectful since I have manners (yes ma’m, no sir, thank you, please) and I treat people the way I would want to be treated. I am compassionate since I enjoy helping those who may not be able to help themselves, I enjoy volunteering at homeless shelters. I believe I am fair since I believe that everyone’s voice/opinion is important and should be heard by everyone.
Class Activity: How can this apply to my life?
Since the podcast will identify and define characteristics of good character, you will use this information to help you complete an activity in class.
- First, you will begin by completing Part A (questions) and Part B (3 sentences). You will use your answers to help you complete the handout in class. This activity will be completed individually since your answers are specific to your life and what you can do to improve your character.
- Part C of the handout will ask about characteristics that you learned from the podcast, what characteristics did you learn that you could add to your previous list (part B)?
- Part D of the handout will require you to write 3 sentences about what can you do to show that you have the additional characteristics. Lastly, you will write a paragraph summarizing why your characteristics are important to you and how can the characteristics improve your character.
